Register of the Charter from the Judge of this Court of Appeal of Porto - Bachelor Jose Francisco de Assis e Andrade Ministry of Ecclesiastic and Justice Affairs=Justice Division, Dona Maria by the grace of God, Queen of Portugal, Algarves and its realms, - I hereby inform those who see this letter of mine that, in view of the merit and other parts that concur in Bachelor - Jose Francisco de Assis e Andrade, and trusting the prestige with which he has served in the career of Magistracy, and loyalty to the Constitutional Throne, and his country, as a result of which he was forced to expatriate, and returning from his honourable migration, he entered Portugal with the Liberator Army, serving not only with arms the noble cause of the Legitimate Government and of Freedom, but having been employed in different commissions, he has performed them with honour and intelligence, and has shown himself worthy of that trust. I am pleased to confirm the gesture done by (...) Augustus Father, of nostalgic memory, as Regent, appointing the said Bachelor Judge of the Court of Appeal, job he will serve the way it should be, and as the other Judges of the Court serve, ... and, in accordance with the law, swearing to the Holy Gospels that he will serve well and truly, keeping in everything the Royal Service, and the parties their right, which will be recorded on the back of this letter (...)...)“ Porto, November 5, 1834

Reference to the death of the Prince Consort of the Kingdom of Portugal

Record of the Royal Decree of March 28, 1835, reporting the death of Prince D. Augusto, and ordering that for eight days the dispatch of the Courts be suspended and that mourning be taken for a period of six months, being three of them strict and the other three mild. Ministry of Ecclesiastic Affairs and Justice = Department of Justice = Her Majesty the Queen orders to inform the Counsellor who serves as President of the Court of Appeal of Porto, that God called to His Holy Glory the Prince D. Augusto, died at two o'clock in the afternoon of today as a result of a very serious and fatal illness, for which reason Her Majesty orders closure for eight days, starting from this date. And also orders, for the same period of time, dispatch of the Courts (...) to be suspended. Paço das Necessidades on March 28, 1835 = António Barreto Ferraz de Vasconcelos.
